PROBABILISTIC NETWORK STUDY - SYSTEM RELIABILITY

Abstract

The report is divided into four parts. Part I gives a formal proof for a well-known statement of Shannon. Part II presents a note on a new sampling theorem using Bernstein's orthogonal polynomials as the basis. Part III contains a new relation between positive real functions of Circuit Theory and the h(p) functions of Reliability Theory. Part IV contains merely the formulation of a new problem concerning ''nearly normal channels'' and the evaluation of their information transmission.
