STUDIES OF PLASMA OSCILLATIONS

Abstract

This program consists of a study of plasma oscillations with the objective of determining and explaining the mechanism for the growth of instabilities and oscillations in a gaseous discharge, with particular emphasis on the action of sheaths and wave interactions with particles in the discharge. The effect of parameters such as geometric shapes and boundaries, magnetic field, pressure and velocity distributions will be taken into account.
