LAUNCH-VEHICLE DYNAMICS

Abstract

Motion, Gust loads, Noise, Wind. Identifiers: Apollo, Saturn, Buffeting, Sloshing. Structural-dynamics problems pertinent to the design of launch vehicles suitable for a lunar mission are discussed. Some measurements of the natural modes of a model of the Saturn launch vehicle are presented. Recent information concerning launch-vehicle loads associated with buffeting, aerodynamic noise, and winds is also presented.
