SMALL SCALE STUDIES OF REFRACTION OF UNDERWATER SHOCK WAVES
Abstract
It has been found that, on the average, impulse was slightly more affected by refraction than was peak pressure, and that energy flux was substantially more affected. In a large majority of the cases, impulse and energy flux were reduced by refraction. This reduction was usually brought about by decreases in both pressures and cut-off times, but the pressure effect was by far the major influence. (Author)
