ACOUSTIC PRESSURE SIGNALS IN WATER (SOFAR)

Abstract

The objectives of Project 1.5 were to make special observations at several USTEF stations (Underwater Sound Transmission Experimental Facilities) in the Pacific and at a similar research station in the Atlantic for the purpose of adding to knowledge of underwater sound propagation and investigating the possibility of determining yields. Records obtained at these stations during the critical periods following the Castle shots were analyzed. (Author)
