SUMMARY REPORT OF RAND WORK ON THE AFSWP FALLOUT PROJECT

Abstract

This report is a summary of the work done at The RAND Corporation on the radioactive fallout program of the Armed Forces Special Weapons Project. It discusses the best fit to the parameters which enter into the computation of radio active fallout and the sensitivity of the final pattern to changes in these parameters. It is concluded that fallout forecasts can be made which, though not extremely accurate, can be of great value in operational problems.
