Employment of OV-1 (Mohawk) Aircraft in Support of Counterinsurgency Operations.

Abstract

The purpose of this supplement is to update mission statistics and other information pertaining to the operation of the 23d Special Warfare Aviation Detachment (SWAD) and to verify and supplement results contained in the Mohawk final test report. The period covered by this supplement is 16 March-31 July 1963. Information con tained in the final test report which remained unchanged, or did not have an important influence on the operation of the 23d SWAD, will not be repeated. Changes in the operation of the 23d SWAD after 16 March 1963 were brought about by the effects of: Direct Support Provided to I ARVN Corps, Weather, Use of 2.75-inch Rockets, and Arrival of Replacement Personnel.
