MEASUREMENT OF PERMANENT GROUND DISPLACEMENT AND ROTATION
Abstract
Comparisons of measured rotations of the Johnie Boy monuments with rotations based on azimuthal variation in radial permanent displacement caused by Johnie Boy, the 1.2-kt Teapot ESS shot, and three 5-ton and one 20-ton HE shots reveal sim ilar orders of magnitude. Rotatons of more than one minute of arc can be expected at overpres sures of 300 psi and almost one degree of arc at overpressures of 1,000 psi from a near surface burst. (Author)
