RESEARCH ON SUBSTITUTED FLUOROCARBONS
Abstract
Trifluoromethylhypofluorite has been prepared by two new reaction methods. One reaction involves the exchange of an OF group for the hydrogen atom on trifluoromethane using oxygen difluoride. The second reaction is a psuedo Hundsdiecke reaction between silver trifluoroacetate and oxygen difluoride. It is felt that the reactions can be generalized to give many other interesting and useful compounds. (Author)
