A STUDY OF THE EXPLOSION LIMITS OF SIMPLE DIFLUORAMINO COMPOUNDS

Abstract

Pyrolysis rates of 1,2-bisdifluoraminopropane were measured f1om 360 C to 390 C in a 1090 cc bulb and the results compared to data obtained in a 216 cc bulb. Critical pressure limits for explosion for pure 1,2-bisdifluoraminopropane were determined in the 1090 cc bulb and found to be lower by a factor of about 3 than the values found in the 216 cc bulb. Critical pressure limits have been determined for equimolar helium1,2-bisdifluoraminopropane and equimolar nitric oxide-1,2-bisdifluoraminopropane mixtures. Helium did not affect the limit at all while nitric oxide lowered it sharply. (Autho9)
