TACTICAL MISSILE RESEARCH STUDY MISSILE GUIDANCE SYSTEM PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS. PHASE I ENGINEERING REPORT

Abstract

A system performance analysis was performed to determine the accuracy of a radar track-command tactical range ship-to-shore missile. Error inputs representative of the MK 74 Fire Control System were used. The system was simulated on an analog computer using perturbation equations. CEP's were established under representative conditions for ranges of 50 and 90 nautical miles. The guidance system included a study of drag modulation. CEP's of 3,150 ft at 90 nautical miles and 1350 ft at 50 nautical miles were obtained under conditions of a rough sea and with minor modifications to the fire control system and the radar. (Author)
