THE THERMAL SENSITIVITY OF HIGH ENERGY MATERIALS,

Abstract

The use of the Wenograd thermal sensitivity meth od in following progressive changes in the sensitivity of binary mixtures of tetranitromethane with added toluene and nitromethane has been demonstrated. Similar measurements were made on nitroglycerine with added dimethyl phthalate and bis(fluorodinitroethyl) formal. Changes in nitroglycerine's sensitivity were observed. Thermal sensitivities of a number of high energy compounds containing trinitromethyl, fluorodinitromethyl and difluoroamino groups are reported. (Author)
