ACOUSTIC DETECTION PREDICTION STUDIES

Abstract

A technique is described for the development of Probability of Detection contours on a depth versus range plot. The basis for the calculation of the propagation loss used in the calculation of the probability figures is a ray tracing model. Data made available of detections made during an ASW exercise are compared with the theory. (Author)
