FIELD TRIALS WITH THE SSX-1 SUBMARINE AT CHESAPEAKE BAY, NOVEMBER 1962

Abstract

To further an understanding of the changes to the ocean environment indicated by the intrusion of a submarine, tests were conducted in the Chesapeake Bay area. Pigment, turbidity and surface tension were measured in and out of the wake of the SSX-1 submarine. Changes in the parameters are presented and analyzed statistically.
