A HIGH SPEED PHOTOGRAPHIC ANALYSIS OF THE PERFORMANCE OF A PROPOSED END CENTRAL BOOSTER FOR THE PHOENIX WARHEAD,

Abstract

This report describes the photographic technique used to determine the performance of a proposed end central booster for the Phoenix Warhead. Data are presented for (1) the pressure induced into a Comp B receptor explosive; (2) the symmetry of the detonation wave expansion; and (3) the correlation of the depth of explosive lead in the booster with the detonation wave shape.
