RESEARCH ON THE RESPONSE OF REINFORCED SOLID PROPELLANTS

Abstract

Research on the structural behavior of wire-reinforced propellant is reported. The strengths of this structural composite are included. Experimental methods to determine the mechanical properties of this rugged propellant are described, and properties of the components are characterized. Analytical studies were performed on the theory of winding reinforced propellant motors and on models to describe the behavior of this new anisotropic composite. The pertinent literature is reviewed.
