INVESTIGATION OF THE INTERNAL FLOW CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ALARR PAYLOAD

Abstract

Comparisons are made on the shock wave location, weight flow, and pressure recovery for two internal filter assemblies of the full-scale ALARR Payload in the Aerodynamic Wind Tunnel, Transonic (1T) and the Propulsion Wind Tunnel, Supeepersonic (16S). Dddata indicated that both configurationsnnonns were structurally adequate. However, extensive redesign of the inlet will be necessary if the inlet is to remain started at Mach numbers below 2.66.
