CHAFF COUNTERMEASURES AND AIR DEFENSE RADAR DESIGN

Abstract

Chaff may be used in a variety of ways to protect attacking bombers from air defense radars. This report considers the operational problem of chaff as a threat to U.S. radars by first surveying the technical characteristics of chaff and of anti-chaff techniques and then examining the characteristics tactical chaff defense problem in the light of these technical characteristics.
