A STUDY OF THE EXPLOSION LIMITS OF SIMPLE DIFLUORAMINO COMPOUNDS

Abstract

Manometric measurements of the thermal decomposition of 2,2-bisdifluoraminopropane in Pyrex vessels of differing surface area to-volume ratios in the temperature range 276-300 C, indicate that the reaction is a homogeneous firstorder reaction with an activation energy of about 38 kcal/mole. Equimolar nitric oxide-2,2-bisdifluoraminopropane mixtures explode less readily than pure 2,2-bisdifluoraminopropane. Explosion limit data for 1,2-bisdifluoramino-2methylpropane have been measured.
