A STUDY OF THE EXPLOSION LIMITS OF SIMPLE DIFLUORAMINO COMPOUNDS
Abstract
Drop weight measurements of sensitivity have been made for 1,3-bisdifluoraminopropane, 2,2-bisdifluoraminopropane and 1,2-bisdifluoramino-2methylpropane. The results correlate very well with the sensitivity as indicated by explosion limit measurements. The kinetics of thermal decomposition of 2,2-bisdifluoraminopropane have been investigated by a sample withdrawal method using infrared analysis to follow the disappearance of the reactant. The data yield a firstorder rate. Further experiments have been performed on the analysis of the products of explosion of 2,2-bisdifluoraminopropane. (Author)
