The Reaction of 2-Fluoro-2,2-Dinitroethyl Tostlate with -ET.

Abstract

The reaction of 2-fluoro-2,2-dinitroethyl tosylate with the nucleophiles bromide, fluoride, azide, cyanide, and methoxide ion was investigated with respect to the displacement of the tosyloxy group by these anions. In most cases side reactions, such as elimination of nitrous acid, prevailed. However, 2-fluoro-2,2-dinitroethyl bromide and 2-fluoro-2,2-dinitroethyl azide may be prepared by this method. (Author)
