FEASIBILITY OF DESIGN OF A TRANSPORTABLE LF HIGH-POWER FERRITE-LOADED ANTENNA

Abstract

The problem of interest for the present application involves the design of transportable-type structures, or of structures which may be installed in a short time and may be dismantled a number of times without prejudice of technical characteristics. In the following, after a review of the basic theory of ferrite-loaded transmitting antennas, the design, construction and operation of a 100-ft-high radiator erected at Nutley, N. J., is described. These results are utilized for the design of a transportable antenna based on the utilization of a crank-up-type tower. (Author)
