ADVANCED OXIDIZER RESEARCH.

Abstract

Further experiments on the dehydrofluorination of secondary alkyldifluoramines are described. A new partially dehydrofluorinated product, 1-difluoramino- 2-fluoriminocyclohexane, was obtained by treating bis(difluoramino) cyclohexane with basic ion exchange resin for a limited time. Bis (difluoramino) fluoraminomethoxy pentane was synthesized by the addition of pentanol to perfluoroguanidine. Elemental analyses of the N2F4-AsF5 adduct gave a composition, N2F4(AsF5) 1.33, indicating a mixture of adducts having 1:1 and 1:2 N2F4:AsF5 ratios. The structure of the 1:2 adduct possibly in N2F3(+)As2F11(-). The reaction of O2AsF6 with CsClF4 produced O2 and Cl2, as well as CsAsF6, at about 0 C. The reaction of NO2 with AsF5 does not give a molecular adduct NO2.AsF5 as reported in the literature, but rather a mixture of NOAsF6 and NO2AsF6. The presence of ammonium perchlorate as a decomposition product of hydroxylammonium perchlorate was found to be dependent on the removal of oxidizing species from the system and, hence, non-stoichiometric.
