SURVEY OF TV-15 AUTOPILOT SIMULATION TESTS,

Abstract

This survey is a follow-up to a report wherein the design philosophy for an improved autopilot (TV-15, TV-16 and TV-17) was presented. In the report, predictions were made of improvements to be expected. This survey indicates the degree of improvement exhibited by test results and explains any significant variations between predicted and actual results. No particular effort has been made to optimize results; the philosophy has been regulate to the requirement that sufficient stability shall be accepted for the X-7A. Research and optimization of design parameters may provide further performance potential for the TV-15 autopilot. (Author)
