OPERATIONAL ANALYSIS. Z(Q-5 HIGH)ZSUPERSONIC TARGET DRONE SYSTEM.

Abstract

This Operational Analysis has been prepared to provide descriptive data for effective operation of the Q-5 Drone System and to explore tactics and techniques for evaluation during the Operational Suitability Test Phase. The analysis describes the drone and its intended methods of use, and includes consideration of cost, training, servicing and maintenance. A chapter on Military Effectiveness summarizes and evaluates the capabilities and limitations of the drone system. The mission of the Q-5 Drone is to simulate, in performance and radar reflectivity, typical enemy supersonic bombers, manned or unmanned, as envisioned for the 1960-62 era. With such characteristics the drone will be used for testing of interceptor weapon systems and training of personnel who will operate them. (Author)
