MAIN TANK INJECTION FOR PACKAGED LIQUID MISSILES. VOLUME I. SYSTEMS ANALYSIS AND COMPONENT TEST.

Abstract

A study is being conducted on the use of main tank injection (MTI) for pressurization of packaged liquid missile propellant tanks. The propellants for this short-range, air-to-ground weapon system are MHF-5 fuel and Compound A oxidizer. This report presents the analytical evaluation of propellant orientation subsystems and MTI performance together with the results of limited tests on the compatibility of flexing components with hot Compound A. Analyses were conducted to define the vehicle propulsion system configuration and a program reference mission.
