ENGINEERING PROPERTY DATA ON ROCKET PROPELLANTS.

Abstract

The first quarter-year's effort of a 24-month analytical and experimental extension of a previous program, designed to characterize essential propellant properties, is presented in three phases. In Phase 1, the continuous documentation of current propellant properties data is being maintained through a literature survey. Experimental efforts under Phase 2 have resulted in measurements of (CH3)2N2H2 thermal conductivity, ClF5 sonic velocity, (CH3)2N2H2 specific heat, ClF3 phase properties (in the critical region) and N2 (g) solubility in ClF5. In addition, assembly of an apparatus to be used in ClF5 viscosity measurements has been completed. Phase 3 efforts resulted in preparation of a bibliography of B2H6 physico-chemical properties.
