ANALYSIS OF THE SUN'S EFFECT ON AN ACTIVE INFRARED SYSTEM.

Abstract

This is a study of the effects of the sun's reflection from diffused ground targets on an active infrared system. It is assumed that the model is placed in the nose of aircraft delivered weapons in order to study the trajectory effects in various delivery modes. Equations are derived and experimental verification is included to support the theory that the reflection will not affect the operation of an infrared system. (Author)
