RESEARCH IN FLUORO-NITRO COMPOUNDS.

Abstract

The reaction of 2,5,8-triketononane with difluoramine in fuming sulfuric acid yielded the cyclization product, 2-methyl-2,5-bis (difluoramino)-5-gamma,gamma-bis-(difluoramino)butyl tetrahydrofuran. The reaction of 2,2,4-trinitrohexane with sodium hypochlorite yielded 1,3,3,4-tetrachloro-2,2,4-trinitrohexane and the potential difluoramine substrates, 2,2,4-trinitro-4-chlorohexane and 2,2-dinitro-4-chloro-3-hexene. The addition of bromine to 3-hexyne gave 3,4,4-tribromo-2-hexene, which gave a difluoramine adduct that was not completely identified. Further work on the fluorination of carboalkoxyguanidines consistently resulted in explosions. (Author)
