EVALUATION OF THE COMBUSTION OF A LIGHT METAL HYDRIDE GELLED FUEL WITH SELECTED OXIDIZERS.

Abstract

Design and fabrication of a 1000-lb-thrust test engine facility is nearly complete. The engine will be used for determining combustion and performance efficiencies of the following systems: (1) TNM/BeH2(20%) + MMH(80%), (2) TNM(80%) + TFH(20%)/BeH2(20%) + MMH(80%), and (3) TNM(60%) + TFH(40%)/BeH2(20%) + MMH(80%). Provisions for the containment and sampling of the beryllium-containing exhaust solids will be provided. Base-line firing of TNM/MMH will precede the candidate system testing. (Author)
