FEASIBILITY DEMONSTRATION OF A SINGLE-CHAMBER CONTROLLABLE SOLID ROCKET MOTOR.

Abstract

This report deals with the development of a Single-Chamber controllable solid rocket motor. During the first four quarters of this program, a preliminary design phase, a propellant development phase, a subscale motor design and development phase, and a heavyweight motor development phase of effort were conducted. Work performed in those areas was reported in the first four quarterly reports, AFRPL-TR-65-204, AFRPL-TR-66-12, AFRPL-TR-66-99, and AFRPL-TR-66-164. This report covers the initial work on the lightweight motor development phase, the results of the first two lightweight motor test firings, and the results of the burning rate study that was conducted to determine the scale-up effects of low pressure burning rates.
