COMMERCIAL SUPERSONIC TRANSPORT PROGRAM. PHASE II-C. AIRCRAFT PROPULSION SYSTEM

Abstract

This document describes the propulsion system for the Model 733-390 airplane using the 475-pounds-per-second General Electric GE4/J5G afterburning turbojet as the primary engine selection. This selection is retained from Phase II-A. Supplement I of this document describes installation, performance, and noise data for the P and WA JTF17A-20B engine. The Pratt and Whitney engine can be installed in the airplane with a minimum of change. Installation studies, performance analyses, and coordination with both engine contractors are being pursued during Phase II-C. This document deals with the changes and improvements made during Phase II-B and II-C of the propulsion system of the Model 733-290.
