HIGH BYPASS RATIO PROPULSION SYSTEMS INVESTIGATION.

Abstract

Performance results of logistics transport type advanced high bypass ratio turbofan propulsion systems are reported in terms of SFC and Fn/Wa as well as in terms of relative aircraft range for a range of engine bypass ratios, cycle pressure ratios, and turbine inlet temperatures. Engine weight study results from the application of advanced materials and results of control system studies are also reported. Utilizing the propulsion data, aircraft cost effectiveness analysis and off-design mission analysis were performed and are reported. (Author)
