LLAMA: AN INDIVIDUAL MISSILE SYSTEM COST MODEL,

Abstract

A description of LLAMA (Lucid Listing of Missile Alternatives), a cost model, and a computer program adapted from MISCOM (RM-5142-PR) for estimating the resource requirements of individual missile weapon systems are contained in this report. The model is designed for use by the Cost Analysis staff at Headquarters USAF; its computer program is designed for operation in the Headquarters USAF Data Services Center. This document describes the reports prepared by the LLAMA computer program and explains their derivation from inputs furnished by the analysts. Also explained are the differences between LLAMA and other models in use at Headquarters USAF, such as MOOSE for costing aircraft weapon systems, and SABLE and MCM-MIN, which develop time-phased cost estimates of forces including missile systems. The appendixes include comprehensive documentation of the computer program and an extensive set of numeric examples.
