LESSONS LEARNED, HEADQUARTERS, 14TH COMBAT AVIATION BATTALION.

Abstract

The mission of the 14th Combat Aviation Battalion was originally to provide general aviation support for Free World Military Assistance Forces and the Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces in the II Corps Tactical Zone of BINH DINH, PHU YEN and PHU BEN Provinces of the Republic of Vietnam, and to provide aviation support to the United States military and civilian advisory effort in I and II Corps. Effective 18 April 1967 the battalion was given the additional mission of establishing a Provisional Aviation Battalion Headquarters to provide command, control, administration and logistics for separate aviation units assigned to Task Force Oregon and to provide timely general and direct support aviation to units in the Task Force AO, I CTZ.
