KINETICS OF DECOMPOSITION OF SOLID OXIDIZERS.

Abstract

The structural characterization of P-BEP is essentially complete, and a most probable average structure has been assigned. A probable end-group structure has been proposed along with the most likely causes of the variable curing properties. Solid phase decompositions have been completed. Product analysis has consistently supported HF elimination as the most likely first step in the pyrolysis. Kinetic analysis of the weight-loss data yields an empirical activation energy of 2-3 kcal. for the overall process. (Author)
