DEVELOPMENT OF A LOW-COST CATALYST FOR HYDRAZINE.

Abstract

This report describes the preliminary work conducted in a program to develop a low cost catalyst for the decomposition of hydrazine. The initial effort has included the construction of equipment for the preparation and evaluation of new catalyst materials, the actual use of this equipment to obtain isothermal decomposition data on Esso 101 and modifications of this catalyst and the evaluation of certain refractory cements in the formation of catalyst pellets. In addition, construction of a 5 lb thrust static firing rocket was begun and the hydrazine catalyst literature was reviewed.
