INVESTIGATION OF THE THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES OF PROPELLANT INGREDIENTS.

Abstract

Work on the heat of decomposition of NF4BF4 showed conclusively that the decomposition products are NF3, BF3, and F2. Accurate heats of decomposition were not yet obtained due to thermal effects which appear to be associated with absorption of BF3 on the reaction vessel walls. Work in progress includes heat of combustion measurements on binder prepolymers PBAA and a compound of code name DOA and formula C2H12O4N4. (Author)
