Investigation of Non-Tubular Wall Regeneratively Cooled Thrust Chamber Concepts.

Abstract

Phase I was a Design and Fabrication Limits Study and was divided into three concerned tasks; Task I - Parametric Design and Limits Study; Task II - Materials Study and Task III - Fabrication Study. Task I was a parametric heat transfer and stress analysis to show the range of application of F2/H2 and/or CPF/N2H4 regeneratively cooled annular and bell chambers. In Task II a literature and industry search was completed to gather material properties of the candidate materials. In Task III candidate fabrication methods were ranked and the six most promising recommended to the AFRPL for experimental evaluation.
