SELECTION OF MATERIALS IN MINIMUM WEIGHT DESIGN

Abstract

This paper discusses how the selection of materials is related to the over-all process of minimun weight design. Examples are given to illustrate tbe process and to show the necessity for basing materials comparisons on the proper design parameters.
