EFFECT OF SURFACE PREPARATION ON ADHESIVE BOND STRENGTHS

Abstract

The comparative effectiveness of a sulfuric acid-sodium dichromate and a boiling hydrofluoric acid surface preparation in providing suitable structural adhesive bonds between Type 410 stainless steel castings, and 7075-T6 clad and 2024-T86 bare aluminum alloys were determined.
