THE DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION OF TUNGSTEN-BASE ALLOYS

Abstract

Tungsten-base alloys and W-3% Mo-base alloys containing nominally 1% Cb, 0.1% Hf, or 0.05% Zr have been successfully converted to 1/2 inch diameter barstock by extrusion and swaging operations. Short-time tensile tests have been performed to 4000 F. Tentative tensile transition temperatures are reported.
