8.35 MM RADIO EMISSION FROM JUPITER AND VENUS

Abstract

Observations of the 8.35 mm radio emission from Jupiter and Venus are reported. A disc temperature of 144 = 23 deg. is found for Jupiter and a temperature of 383 = 60 deg. is found for Venus. It is shown that the 8 mm brightness temperature of Jupiter should correspond closely to the temperature at the level of the visible cloud cover.
