THERMOELECTRICITY

Abstract

Efforts were continued on the investigation of thermoelectric compounds and processing techniques for their fabrication. An experiment on the effect of changing the final sintering tem perature of GeBiTe has shown that properties and consistency are improved by determining the solidus for each heat, and then setting the final sintering temperature at or slightly below that temperature. The efficiency of a multiple array of BiSbTe-PbTe couples was found to be 7%. The mechanical and vaporization-oxidation properties of CoSbTeSe were measured to 700 C. Results from investigation of ''p'' type Co-Sb base alloys are presented. The work on Sn diffusion bonding, with and without protective recesses, was completed.
