HEAT TRANSFER, BARREL TEMPERATURES AND THERMAL STRAINS IN GUNS

Abstract

Data on temperature distribution and heat input in a 37mm gun during firing are presented. These results are discussed and compared with theoretical values obtained by using Nordheim, Soodak and Nordheim method of calculation.
