MEDIUM ALKALINITY CLEANERS OF SUPERIOR DETERGENCY

Abstract

The inefficiency of medium alkalinity (ca pH12), soak alkaline cleaners in deterging calcium soap grease was overcome in two ways: by incorporating a small amount of the organic chelating agent, tetrasodium salt of ethylene-diaminetetra acetic acid and causing removal by an exchange mechanism, or by the addition of a small amount of specific high boiling - high flash point glycols which produce stable, single phase detergent solutions possessing synergistic power.
