A GENERAL STRUCTURAL CRITERIA USED IN SYSTEMS RESEARCH AND PLANNING DIVISION STUDIES OF NON RECOVERABLE BOOST VEHICLES

Abstract

This report contains a set of generalized structural criteria for the nonreusable boost vehicles of space launching systems and ballistic missile systems. Included are the basic objectives for the philosophy of structural design, a listing of the conditions and environments for which the vehicle must be investigated and designed, a summary of the requirements for establishing loads and other environmental factors for the design conditions and the requirements for establishing evidence of structural adequacy.
