NEW METHODS FOR SYNTHESIS OF NONUNIFORMLY SPACED ANTENNA ARRAYS

Abstract

Four new methods of synthesis of nonuniformly spaced antenna arrays are given: (1) the mechan ical quadratures method, developed recently by Bruce and Unz and independently by Lo, (2) the eigenvalues method, (3) the expansion method, and (4) the orthogonalization method using the Schmidt's procedure. An exponential-decay di rective pattern is suggested in order to avoid numerical integrations. A summary of the re search work in non-uniformly spaced antenna arrays is given.
