THERMAL-MECHANICAL TREATMENTS APPLIED TO ULTRA HIGH STRENGTH BAINITES

Abstract

A program was initiated to determine the effects of thermal-mechanical treatments on the mechanical properties of high strength bainites. Particular concern will be paid to the strengthening mechanisms involved. The three alloys chosen for study are H11, 4340, and 4350. The pertinent transformation characteristics of these steels are being determined.
