STANDARDIZATION ENGINEERING PRACTICES STUDY

Abstract

Available test procedures, such as the resonant cavity method and the free space reflectometer method, among others, which will provide reproducible values for the dielectric constant and dissipation factor of ceramic materials at 1.0, 3.0, 8.6, and 24 kmc will be investigated. Literature study and analytical calculations were continued in order to provide a background for selection of suitable experimental approaches worthy of trial. Notes on TM010 and TE011 cylindrical cavity methods are included. Ceramic samples of several ranges of dielectric constant were selected, ordered, and received in readiness for experimental measurements.
